To ensure that the polygraph examiner you hire is qualified and experienced, it is recommended that you verify their credentials and membership with the American Polygraph Association (APA).

The APA verifies members' training and experience, providing reassurance that the examiner has met the required standards for practicing polygraph examinations (including graduation from an APA accredited Polygraph School).

You can easily search for a polygraph examiner's membership status (by city, state, or name) on the APA's website to confirm their affiliation and to obtain additional information.

All Focused Polygraph Examiners are current members of the APA.

See our blog post for additional information.

Focused Polygraph utilizes event-specific testing, which has been found to have a decision accuracy rate of 89% as determined by the 2012 APA meta-analysis final report:

“Excluding outlier results, comparison question techniques intended for event-specific (single issue) diagnostic testing...produced an aggregated decision accuracy rate of .890 with a combined inconclusive rate of .110” https://polygraph.org/docs/polygraph_404.pdf

In 2012, the American Polygraph Association (APA) conducted a meta-analysis of all published scientific research regarding Polygraph Examinations. Thirty-eight studies satisfied the qualitative and quantitative requirements for inclusion in the meta-analysis. These studies comprised more than 3700 polygraph examinations.

The findings of the meta-analysis support the accuracy and reliability of polygraph examinations when conducted by trained and experienced examiners using validated testing methods. The final report was released to the public on the APA website in 2012 (full report and associated FAQ links below).

We utilize state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our services. Our experienced examiners adhere to the strict guidelines and ethical standards set forth by the APA, providing our clients with trusted and dependable results.

A polygraph examination conducted by Focused Polygraph can provide a quick, objective evaluation of the truthfulness of individuals involved in criminal cases or legal disputes.

Prosecutors and opposing counsel often make settlement offers, but clients may not consider them even when evidence is overwhelming. Defense counsel may have limited resources despite their client's claims of innocence. In such situations, a polygraph examination can offer a credible and impartial assessment of the truth, potentially assisting in the resolution of the case.

A polygraph exam can be an effective tool in resolving difficult situations by providing an objective and scientific means of verifying the truth.

In infidelity situations, polygraph exams can help either confirm or refute the allegations, allowing people to move forward based on the truth.

Where students accused of misconduct and face significant consequences, a polygraph exam can find the truth and provide the student with an opportunity to present their side of the story.

These uses of polygraph exams are described by a highly experienced Polygraph Examiner in the Michigan Bar Journal (link below). The article illustrates several real-world examples using polygraph exams.

The National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) is recognized as the top Polygraph training facility in the world. This means that our examiners are trained in the most current and state-of-the-art Polygraph techniques and methods, as used by organizations such as the FBI, CIA, United States Secret Service, and 25 other federal agencies.

The training and experience of any Polygraph Examiner should be carefully considered especially if dealing with an important personal issue or while potentially negotiating with opposing counsel, school administrators, or prosecutors.

Focused Polygraph can provide polygraph examinations for individuals who have been accused of a crime or misconduct. We conduct exams to verify the truthfulness of the accused, gather valuable information, and assist in the resolution of the situation.
